What will a Doula provide for you?

Your Doula will provide education and support with, breastfeeding, birth places, and baby care, will  become a friend, and a consistant relationship during your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum process.

We will arrive to your home during early labor whenever you decide you want us there, providing encouragement, physical comfort and coping skills. A doula can help you determine when it is time to go to the hospital or birthing center, and once you are there help you to keep sight of your birthing plan, and avoid any changes to it unless medically necessary.

We will accompany you to your birth place and remain with you until after baby is born and nursing.

It is common for a Dr or Midwife to be called to another birth, or even for a backup to be sent in their place, or for your partner to need a snack or a break.

Your doula will remain by your side, making sure you have all your needs met, emotionally and physically the entire time, even as hospital shifts change, and before your Dr or Midwife arrive.

A doula often will provide the opportunity for photos of your birth if desired.

Doula Package Includes

3 prenatal visits, lasting 1-2 hours each in mothers home.

1-2 visits with mother to her care provider, to provide support in late pregnancy, as well as establish a relationship with that provider, and open communications.

Presence from the beginning to the end of labor/birth plus two hours post partum.

2 homevisits, one being 2 days post partum and the next 7-10 days post partum

Optional in-home massage, including pressure points for labor induction (with care providers approval)

A doula does NOT;

Replace partners in birth.  In fact, partners often feel encouraged to become even MORE involved than they had planned, by the doula whispering to him/her the things to do to help mom, and demonstrating them for him/her.

Force her views of birth on a mother/family.  She will educate families on their choices, and work 1000% to make sure that mothers goals are met for birth, whether those goals are to receive pain medication immediately upon arrival to the hospital, or to have a homebirth using nothing but hypnosis and aromatherapy for pain relief.

A doula simply wants birth to be a positive transformation in a mothers life, and she makes it her #1 goal to do so.

.....massage therapy expertise for pregnancy, post partum, and during labor.

...physical, consistant support during the entire labor process, "you will never have to be alone"
